Head of Sixth Form


We would like to appoint an excellent teacher to join our Middle Leaders focusing on monitoring and improving outcomes for a particular year group. You will be joining an exciting Sixth Form team to continue to develop Woodmansterne as a place where students can become the very best that they can be. Each sixth form year group has 75 pupils with over 20 subjects offered at Sixth Form. We are very proud of the high level of mutual respect and trust between our staff and students; our students are hardworking, well behaved, courteous and polite.

Personal attributes

We are looking for a dedicated, caring and hardworking Head of Year with:

  • very high expectations of what each child can achieve;
  • a proven track record in raising pupil attainment at Key Stage 5;
  • knowledge and understanding of how to identify pastoral need and organise appropriate interventions;
  • knowledge and experience of UCAS application and reference processes;
  • an understanding of how children learn and the complexities of this process;
  • the ability to successfully lead a pastoral team of tutors and pastoral support staff, establishing effective working relationships and flexible working practices; 
  • experience of following direction and working in collaboration with colleagues, parents, pupils and the school community;
  • strong interpersonal skills;
  • a creative and innovative approach to school improvement;
